I am a painter who documents a wide range of landscapes along with their more intimate features. I am especially drawn to areas that have a raw, often sublime, quality. I worked for many years as a National Park Backcountry Ranger and Forest Ecologist; those experiences left me with a profound appreciation for our wild lands and a growing concern for what their survival looks like in the future. The following artworks cover a variety of landscapes with their various unique ecological processes and smaller (but important) organisms. The paintings shown here have all been inspired from my own direct experience.
I hope you enjoy exploring the various ecosystems contained here and that the images will give you a greater appreciation of our fragile lands.
